About The Steel City Mechanical Pencils Range

These are the mechanical pencils we put forward for premium gifting, onboarding packs and recruitment days – where the pencil needs a solid metal feel, a sensible lead size, and branding that survives being carried around.

Lead sizes people write with: We keep to 0.5mm and 0.7mm because they’re the sizes people already use daily. 0.7mm suits quick, heavier note-taking; 0.5mm is better for fine, tidy work – tell us the audience and we’ll steer you to the right one.
Metal, not throwaway: These use brass or stainless steel barrels, so the pencil holds its shape and the mechanism stays solid after thousands of clicks. That weight in the hand is what makes it read as a gift rather than a freebie.
Engraving that stays put: Where the pencil will live in a pocket or a bag, we lean towards engraving – it cuts into the metal rather than sitting on top, so your logo won’t rub off with handling the way a surface print can.
A clean 1-colour print: On the barrels that take a 1-colour print we work to a defined area, so your logo sits square rather than wrapping round as the pencil turns in someone’s fingers. It’s the cost-effective route for larger volumes.
Presentation that arrives right: Some of these come boxed or sleeved, which matters for client gifting – the pencil turns up pristine and the unboxing does some of the work of making the recipient feel valued.
A proof before we run it: We send a proof before production so you can check your logo on the actual barrel and lead size first. On a 30-35mm print area that’s what keeps the artwork from landing cramped.
A starting point, not the ceiling: These are the mechanical pencils we keep coming back to for a quality feel and reliable timings. If your quantity and dates allow, we can source bespoke finishes, packaging or mechanisms to the same standard – just ask.

Express steel option: The Bravado Ventura Mechanical Pencil – Engraved is the one to reach for when your deadline’s tight – a brushed stainless steel barrel with chrome trim and 0.5mm lead, laser engraved on the cap, and it carries a 3 Day Express option. The finer lead suits neat note-takers.
Hand-polished brass, engraved: The Pierre Cardin Fontaine Mechanical Pencil – Engraved pairs a hand-polished brass body with a 0.7mm lead for busy working use, and the engraving on a 35 x 6mm barrel keeps your logo clear however much it’s handled. A solid everyday premium pick.
Boxed pen-and-pencil set: The Pierre Cardin Fontaine Set With Box – Engraved is our choice for a proper thank-you – a matching twist-action ballpen and pencil in hand-polished brass, supplied in a Pierre Cardin presentation box, and engraved on a 30 x 5mm area so it arrives looking intentional.
Same set, colour print: The Pierre Cardin Fontaine Set With Box – Spot Colour is the same boxed brass set, printed 1 colour on a larger 35 x 20mm barrel area instead of engraved – the route to take when you want the logo colour-matched rather than cut into the metal.
Volume-friendly single pencil: The Pierre Cardin Fontaine Mechanical Pencil – Spot Colour is the cost-effective pick for larger runs – the same hand-polished brass 0.7mm pencil, printed 1 colour on a 35 x 20mm barrel, so you keep the Pierre Cardin feel while keeping the unit price sensible.

Just wanted to share some overwhelmingly positive feedback about James and his incredible team. I recently placed a very small, but crucial, order for an embroidered puffa jacket. My original supplier completely let me down, calling late on a Friday afternoon (3:00 PM) to push the committed delivery date from Tuesday to Thursday, which was too late for our filming schedule. In a panic, I called James's team at 3:05 PM that same Friday, honestly expecting a firm "no." However, I was met with unbelievably helpful and flexible service. The team, specifically Rowan and David, were absolutely first class! They went above and beyond, making it seem like nothing was too much trouble. Thanks to their efforts, the jacket will now be delivered on Wednesday—a whole day before we need it for filming! This is old-school customer service at its very best.
