About The Steel City Shirts Range

These are the shirts we put a team in when the logo has to still look sharp after months of washing and every size has to fit properly. Get the fabric and the branding right and a uniform order stops being a headache – here’s what we check for you.

Embroidery that holds: On a smart shirt we default to embroidery rather than print, because stitched thread keeps its shape through repeat washing instead of cracking or fading. Your branding still looks tidy months in, which matters when people wear it every day.
Stretch where you move: An elastane or enzyme-washed cotton mix gives just enough give across the back and shoulders, so a shirt stays comfortable through a day of typing, driving or serving – and the chest logo sits flat rather than pulling.
Easy-care for mornings: Cotton-polyester Oxford blends look presentable straight off the hanger, which saves your team fighting the iron before a shift and keeps everyone looking consistent.
Men’s and women’s cuts: Several of these come in matched men’s and women’s fits across a wide size run, so the whole team looks part of the same unit without buttons pulling or sleeves swamping anyone.
Organic and Fairtrade options: If sustainability is in the brief, we can name it – certified organic or Fairtrade cotton – rather than leaving it at a vague eco claim you’d have to stand behind.
Proof before we stitch: We send a digital proof of the logo position and thread colours first, so nothing goes to the machine until you’ve signed off exactly where it sits.
A starting point, not the ceiling: These are the shirt lines we come back to for fit, fabric behaviour and clean branding. If you’re matching an existing uniform or working to a tighter date, we can source alternatives to the same standard – just ask.

Stretch that keeps its shape: Our go-to here is the Tee Jays Luxury Stretch Shirt – a 95% organic cotton, 5% elastane mini-pique at 215gsm that’s enzyme-washed and double pre-shrunk, so it keeps its fit wash after wash. The stretch lets an embroidered logo sit flat across the chest, and with a low minimum order it suits smaller front-of-house teams too.
Classic Oxford for the men’s fit: The Kustom Kit Long Sleeve Premium Oxford Shirt – Men’s is our go-to long-sleeve: an 85% cotton, 15% polyester Oxford with a fused stand-up button-down collar that stays crisp instead of collapsing by lunchtime. It runs 14.5″ to 23″, so you can fit a whole team from one line.
The matched women’s cut: Pair it with the Kustom Kit Long Sleeve Premium Oxford Shirt – Women’s so everyone’s in the same shirt with a proper fit. It’s the same easy-care Oxford blend with a central back pleat and shaped cut, sized 6 to 28 – the reason it’s here is that it keeps the team looking like one unit.
Short sleeve for warmer sites: When long sleeves are too warm, the Kustom Kit Short Sleeve Premium Oxford Shirt – Men’s gives you the same premium Oxford and button-down collar in a short-sleeve cut, with double-stitched seams that hold up to daily wear. Handy for summer events or warm indoor floors.
Bespoke for standout events: For an exhibition team or a launch, the Bespoke Hawaiian Shirt is dye-sublimated all over on 4-way stretch polyester, so your artwork can cover the whole shirt rather than sitting on one chest panel. It runs S to 4XL – the pick when you want the stand to be seen across a hall.

Just wanted to share some overwhelmingly positive feedback about James and his incredible team. I recently placed a very small, but crucial, order for an embroidered puffa jacket. My original supplier completely let me down, calling late on a Friday afternoon (3:00 PM) to push the committed delivery date from Tuesday to Thursday, which was too late for our filming schedule. In a panic, I called James's team at 3:05 PM that same Friday, honestly expecting a firm "no." However, I was met with unbelievably helpful and flexible service.
