About The Steel City Trousers Range

We treat branded trousers as working kit, not a giveaway, so the things that matter are fabric weight, the seams at the pockets and knees, and a branding method that survives repeated hot washes. Get those wrong and pairs come back split or the logo lifts within a month.

Weight that holds its shape: We work with polycotton around 270gsm because lighter fabrics tend to go shiny or bag out at the knees. This weight keeps its look when the same pairs are washed and worn week after week on a tight rota.
Seams built for the job: We look for twin-needle stitched seams and critical stress points bar-tacked, because that’s exactly where trousers fail when someone’s kneeling and lifting all day. It’s the difference between a pair lasting a contract and splitting mid-job.
Branding that survives the wash: We usually steer teams towards embroidery here, because frequent hot washes and tumble drying are where cheaper transfer prints start to lift and crack. For standard uniform, that keeps your logo looking right for far longer.
Sizes for a mixed team: We choose ranges that run a full size span so nobody’s left in trousers that don’t fit and sit unworn in a locker. Getting the fit right up front cuts down the swapping and returns you have to manage.
One order, one point of contact: We run visuals, pricing, proofs and delivery on one account, so you can place a single order for mixed sizes without chasing several people. As a BPMA-accredited distributor we keep the paperwork consistent, which matters when you’re reordering in phases and need the look to match.
Proof before the run: We fix artwork, logo position and colour on a proof before anything goes into production, with a lead time of around 10-12 working days from artwork approval. That keeps the kit landing in time for a start date without nasty surprises.
A baseline, not the only option: This is the trouser we treat as our reliable standard for team kit. If you need a specific pocket layout, fit or colour and you’ve got the lead time, we can source to the same standard – just ask.

Fabric that keeps its look: We recommend the Result WorkGuard Action Trousers as our standard team trouser because the 65% polyester, 35% cotton fabric at 270gsm holds its shape and finish through repeated washing, rather than going shiny at the knees like lighter cloth. The twin-needle seams and critical stress bar-tacking take the load where trousers usually give way.
Practical pockets, sensible fit: The same Result WorkGuard Action Trousers run XS to 5XL with deep side pockets, a tear-release pocket system with reflective trim, a hammer loop and belt loops, and they come in black, blue, green and grey. They’re also available in ladies sizes, so one order can kit out a mixed team. We’d usually put embroidery in one position on these, since it holds up to hot washes better than a print.

Just wanted to share some overwhelmingly positive feedback about James and his incredible team. I recently placed a very small, but crucial, order for an embroidered puffa jacket. My original supplier completely let me down, calling late on a Friday afternoon (3:00 PM) to push the committed delivery date from Tuesday to Thursday, which was too late for our filming schedule. In a panic, I called James's team at 3:05 PM that same Friday, honestly expecting a firm "no." However, I was met with unbelievably helpful and flexible service.
