About The Steel City Towels Range

We pick and brand towels around two things: how they feel after repeat washes, and how the branding holds up once they’re stuffed in kit bags, used outdoors and laundered hard. For an event, a gym, a golf day or a summer promo, that’s what stops you with something that looks fine on day one and thin by week three.

Sizes that fit the use: We carry hand, sports, beach and tri-fold golf formats so the towel suits the job, not just your logo. Too small and it never gets used; too bulky and it’s left at home.
Branding matched to wear: We’ll steer you to print, embroidery or a woven design depending on how the towel gets used and washed, so your logo doesn’t fade early or feel stiff. Everything goes through a proof before production so placement and colours are signed off first.
Print area that reads across a room: On the printed formats you get large full-colour faces, up to 1400 x 700mm on the beach towel, so branding stays visible when the towel’s in use or hung up rather than lost on the fabric.
Embroidery kept sensible: On the golf towels we work to a stitch limit of up to 10,000, because over-stitching makes a logo feel heavy and can pull the fabric over time. Keeping it sensible helps the branding stay sharp through repeat laundering.
A feel you can choose: Heavier cotton velour and terry sit alongside quick-dry waffle microfibre, because plush-and-absorbent and light-and-packable do different jobs. If pack size matters, go lighter; for a hotel-style feel, go cotton-heavy.
Origin you can state: Several of the printed formats are made in the UK and the woven bar towel is made in Europe, so you can be clear about origin when a client or a tender asks.
A starting point, not the ceiling: These are the towels we keep coming back to for reliable branding and dependable timings, usually around 10-12 working days from artwork approval. If your quantity and dates allow, we can source bespoke sizes, weights or woven designs to the same standard – just ask.

Bold face, proper dry: We choose the Printed Sports Towel because the 400gsm 70% cotton / 30% polyester build keeps the full-colour 1000 x 500mm face looking bold while the terry reverse still dries you properly. It’s made in the UK, so it’s a solid pick when origin matters on a gym or event handout.
Big artwork for summer: The Printed Beach Towel is the one for a summer promo, with a print-forward face that holds a full 1400 x 700mm design and a terry reverse that keeps it usable after pool and beach days. It’s also UK-made.
Clip-up hand towel: We recommend the Printed Hand Towel with the eye-and-carabiner option, so it clips to a bag or a rail and stays off wet surfaces. The 600 x 400mm printed polyester face carries full colour, and it’s made in the UK.
Golf-bag durability: For a golf day we pick the Event Trifold Golf Towel, a 480gsm cotton velour tri-fold that handles repeat use, with a carabiner so it stays clipped to the bag rather than dropped on the green. It takes embroidery up to 10,000 stitches on the leading panel.
Fast-dry, packs small: The Waffle Tri-Fold Golf Towel is the lighter alternative – waffle-weave microfibre dries faster and folds down smaller than thick cotton, and the 490 x 450mm single-side print gives clear branding without adding bulk to a golf bag.
Woven for bars and venues: The Woven Bar Towel is a 450gsm cotton terry made in Europe, with your design woven in one colour into the cloth rather than printed on top – so it wears in rather than fading, which suits a bar or venue that launders daily.

Just wanted to share some overwhelmingly positive feedback about James and his incredible team. I recently placed a very small, but crucial, order for an embroidered puffa jacket. My original supplier completely let me down, calling late on a Friday afternoon (3:00 PM) to push the committed delivery date from Tuesday to Thursday, which was too late for our filming schedule. In a panic, I called James's team at 3:05 PM that same Friday, honestly expecting a firm "no." However, I was met with unbelievably helpful and flexible service. The team, specifically Rowan and David, were absolutely first class! They went above and beyond, making it seem like nothing was too much trouble. Thanks to their efforts, the jacket will now be delivered on Wednesday—a whole day before we need it for filming! This is old-school customer service at its very best.
