We won Branded Merchandise Gold Distributor of the Year 2022-2023 award!
Last week, MD James Biggin headed down to the prestigious PAGE Group industry awards ceremony. (The PAGE Group is an exclusive membership of branded merchandise distributors and was set up in 1990.) A much anticipated annual event, over 120 professional distributors and suppliers from all over the country attended. This year it was held at the Delta Warwick Hotel and guests enjoyed a table top exhibition of new promotional products followed by an awards dinner and entertainment from comedian Matt Bragg and The Haze Band.
When Steel City’s name was announced as the Gold Distributor of the year in the £1,000,000 – £3,000,000 category, James was completely thrilled and delighted by the news. “With the company turning 40 in 2020, and after such a challenging couple of years, as well as winning Silver in 2020-21, to receive this recognition from our supply base once again is a wonderful feeling!” says James. “My team deserve this the most. They have battled through and worked so hard over the years. We have stayed true to our values and work ethic.”
“I’d also like to say thank you to our supply base who are vital to what we do, supporting us day in, day out. They have kept stock levels there, machines operational, brought new products to market for us to sell and retained staff. We have needed them like never before and they delivered!”.
The news of the award came to the rest of the team the very next day and what a shock it was! “I was extremely happy to see we had won such an esteemed industry award for the second year running. It’s a great boost to us all and recognition of all our hard work”. David Robinson, account manager adds.
Voted for by all the main suppliers in our sector, the award is based on three main criteria: exemplar level of quality, service and efficiency. The scores from all of our suppliers were tallied and the overall performance and professionalism measured against other distributors in the industry.
