About The Steel City Sharpeners Range

We keep to a few sharpener formats that print cleanly and don’t get lost the week after you hand them out – so your logo stays on a desk instead of at the bottom of a bag. Here’s what we look at when we pick them for you.

Print away from the curve: A sharpener is a small, round thing, so we stick to flat panels and labels where the artwork sits square. On a 20mm round body you’re limited to a small mark; on a printed tube or label you get room to breathe, which is worth knowing before you settle on a format.
Keeps it with the pencils: A loose sharpener wanders off. A tube that holds the pencils and doubles as the sharpener stays in one place, so for a classroom or activity pack it keeps working long after a giveaway sharpener has gone missing.
Single or full colour: One colour is cheaper and quicker to sign off; full colour holds a detailed logo or a gradient without simplifying it. If you’re not sure which suits your artwork, send it over and we’ll tell you straight.
Recycled where it counts: If sustainability is part of the brief, we can point you to a body moulded from recycled plastic rather than leaving it at a vague eco claim – so you can say exactly what the item is made from.
Proof before we print: On something this small it’s easy for a logo to end up cramped, so we send a digital proof first. You check the size and placement, then we run it – no surprises across the batch.
Plan around 10-12 days: These run to around 10-12 working days from artwork approval, so you can line them up with a term start or an event without leaving the print looking rushed.
A starting point, not the ceiling: These are the sharpener formats we come back to for dependable print and timings. If your quantity and dates allow, we can look at bespoke shapes and packaging to the same standard – just ask.

Stays with the pencils: We’d point you to the Craft Pencil Tube with Sharpener for a classroom or activity pack, because the cardboard tube holds the coloured pencils and the coloured lid is the sharpener – so the set stays together in a bag or drawer. It’s printed one colour on a 60 x 40mm area, which is enough for a clear logo, and it comes in six colours to match a scheme.
Full colour on a tidy body: The Round Pencil Sharpener – Full Colour is the one to reach for when your logo needs its colours or a gradient kept intact. The print sits in a 20mm round area on a 40mm body, so it’s a compact giveaway – a low-cost handout where the branding still comes out sharp rather than reduced to one colour.
Recycled and worth keeping: The Wheelie Bin Recycled Sharpener is moulded from recycled plastic and shaped like a little wheelie bin on wheels, so it earns a second look and tends to stay on a desk. The 30 x 20mm front panel takes a one-colour print, and it’s made in Europe across six colours if you want to match a recycling or sustainability campaign.
Cheapest to sign off: When the job is a simple high-volume handout, the Round Pencil Sharpener – Spot Colour is the easy call. It’s the same 40mm body as the full-colour version but printed in a single colour on the 20mm round area, which keeps the unit price down and the proofing short when you’re matching one brand colour.

Just wanted to share some overwhelmingly positive feedback about James and his incredible team. I recently placed a very small, but crucial, order for an embroidered puffa jacket. My original supplier completely let me down, calling late on a Friday afternoon (3:00 PM) to push the committed delivery date from Tuesday to Thursday, which was too late for our filming schedule. In a panic, I called James's team at 3:05 PM that same Friday, honestly expecting a firm "no." However, I was met with unbelievably helpful and flexible service.
