About The Steel City Badges Range

We choose these badge formats so they still look presentable on day three, not just out of the box – which usually comes down to the right fixing, a face that resists scuffing, and a way to swap names when your staff or visitors change at short notice.

Name swaps in minutes: The window styles hold a printed card behind a clear protector, and we supply inserts on A4 perforated sheets. When you get temps, visitors or last-minute cover, you change the name at your desk instead of reprinting the whole badge.
The right fixing for the job: Different roles need different fittings – a magnetic back for knitwear you don’t want to pierce, a butterfly clutch for a lapel pin, a safety pin for a quick event badge. We’ll steer you to the one that sits straight rather than spinning on a thin top.
A face that takes daily wear: We favour scratch-resistant PVC faces, metal fronts and domed epoxy covers because an unprotected print goes cloudy fast against lanyard clips and desk edges. The covering takes the rubbing so your logo stays readable.
Artwork checked on the real face: Small logos and colour blends can read differently once printed on metal or plastic, so we check your artwork against the badge size and method, and send a proof, before anything runs.
Recycled content, clearly stated: Several lines are UK manufactured from recycled or 100% recycled materials and are fully recyclable. If your business tracks what things are made from, that’s a claim you can actually stand behind.
Turnaround, with Express Delivery on selected lines: Standard lead time is around 10-12 working days from artwork approval, and many button and recycled lines carry a 5 Day Express option for when event stock is tight – filter by Express on the site to see which.
A starting point, not the ceiling: These are the formats we know behave well in daily use, so you’re not paying for a custom build to fix a basic issue like scratching or spinning. If you need a tighter spec on size or finish, we can look at bespoke – just ask.

Reusable name badge that holds its shape: We recommend the Metal Faced Window Badge for front-of-house because the metal front keeps its shape where softer window styles crease, and the clear protector lets you swap the printed insert without the badge looking tired. It’s UK manufactured, partly from recycled materials, up to 73 x 44mm.
Protected print for names and titles: The Domed Metal Name Badge is the one when you’re printing names permanently – the clear dome takes the rubbing instead of the print, so it avoids that worn-through look after repeated wiping. It comes in oblong, oval and round with your choice of fitting, up to 86 x 54mm.
Rewritable at short notice: The Reusable Moso Bamboo Blackboard Name Badge is genuinely useful when names change on the day – the black-coated MOSO bamboo face works with liquid chalk pens, so you update a visitor or cover name on the spot instead of rebuilding an insert. UK manufactured, up to 86 x 54mm.
Keep-forever lapel pin: For memberships and long-service pins we specify hard enamel on the 20mm Hard Enamelled Badge because it cures smooth and resists chipping better than soft enamel. Enamelled in up to 4 colours on a 20 x 20mm face with a butterfly clutch pin, it holds its look over years of wear.
Recyclable button at volume: The 25mm Round Recycled Button Badge is the easy call for a big event handout – made from 100% recycled plastic, fully recyclable, UK manufactured, full-colour across the 25mm face, and it carries a 5 Day Express option when stock is tight.
Cut to your own outline: The 25mm Bespoke Recycled Acrylic Badge lets you match the shape to your logo within 25 x 25mm, full-colour printed with a butterfly pin fitting. It’s UK manufactured from recycled acrylic, so you get a custom silhouette without dropping the sustainability claim.

Benefits of Promo Badges

Badges, like all promotional merchandise, range from cheap-looking throwaways to quality little items that look good and last. Ours are the latter. We want you to have good value for your money – even if it’s just a little money – and we want your customers to see your company as a quality organisation that will provide quality goods and services. So we do the same.

The history of badges goes back for centuries and is still going strong. During the Middle Ages, badges were worn as a type of jewellery, letting onlookers know to whose house or family each wearer belonged, and even as a subtle sign of wealth or power. We do the same now, displaying allegiance to a favourite product, company or event.

Badges today remain one of the most popular forms of advertising. It is a subtle and powerful way to get your brand into places that are far beyond the reach of other forms of advertising. Because a badge is still considered an item of clothing, it can be worn in places where you could never have a poster, presentation, or pay for some other form of media. Great value, and great versatility! This is part of the reason why they are so popular with groups, societies, charities, clubs and so on. That same power can be used to promote a business in the same way.

Badges Provide Constant Brand Touch Points

A badge has a subtle effect in most cases, but it does this over and over again, thousands of times a day. Some companies pair the badge drive with a social media campaign, asking customers to post photos of the badge in various contexts, sometimes even offering a prize for the best photo of the month or of the campaign. This drives yet more attention to the badges, encourages people to wear them, and even duplicates the badges into an online form by having them posted for free on the internet! The low-cost, paid advertising grows with unpaid aspects added to it.

Corporations often use badges to create a sense of professionalism and of a larger corporation – this is true of both larger and smaller ones. Seeing people attending a booth, handing out information, or answering questions is seen as more professional when the people are wearing clear badges to identify them as a part of a company. The potential customer doesn’t have to wonder who to talk to, because it is clear from the start. That kind of clarity and ease in advertising gives the sense of a well-organised and thoughtful company. That’s the kind of company most people want to work with.

Consider the type of company you are, the type you want to become, and the setting in which you want to use the badges. You can then choose a popular badge like the Hard Enamel Lapel Badge to give a strong, high-quality first impression to potential customers.

Branded Pin Badges

Charities and similar groups, such as grass-roots sporting clubs, often mark significant events with metal pins. It not only keeps awareness of the campaign or event high, but it also increases the sense of teamwork and solidarity among those working for the charity, or supporting it through volunteering and/or donation. For teams, it gives a sense of pride and support for the players and the local area.

Our Printed Metal Badge is a great example of this kind of product. They can be cut to the shape you want, to match a company logo or even a sporting image, like a footballer or tennis racket. They are made from aluminium and can be printed in full colour for maximum impact and long wear. They can even be dispatched in as little as seven working days!

If you prefer a Charity ribbon-style badge, we offer a range of vibrant colours to suit any brand. Prices start as a low 53p per unit, depending on the size of your order.

Look through the full range of items and options, including staff name badges, lanyards, flags and bunting, balloons, event items, wristbands, novelty gifts, buttons, badges, ribbons, display items and giveaway promotional items.

“Everything ran smoothly. Quote options were dealt with promptly, and advice was given when requested. I was informed of the handover to a named person to oversee the production, and I was kept informed at every stage of the process and given the tracking info when my order was out for delivery. I have total trust in Steel City to handle and produce great products. My client is also super happy with the final product..”

Second time ordering from Steel City. The team has been marvellous once again. Very attentive to my requests, and in this occasion - very short deadline. They were quick to respond, and delivered on time in spite of the challenge of time. Always respond quickly and very proactive. I highly recommend this company for any marketing needs. Their brouchure is full of ideas and nothing is out of reach. Thank you once again team!

Just wanted to share some overwhelmingly positive feedback about James and his incredible team. I recently placed a very small, but crucial, order for an embroidered puffa jacket. My original supplier completely let me down, calling late on a Friday afternoon (3:00 PM) to push the committed delivery date from Tuesday to Thursday, which was too late for our filming schedule. In a panic, I called James's team at 3:05 PM that same Friday, honestly expecting a firm "no." However, I was met with unbelievably helpful and flexible service. The team, specifically Rowan and David, were absolutely first class! They went above and beyond, making it seem like nothing was too much trouble. Thanks to their efforts, the jacket will now be delivered on Wednesday—a whole day before we need it for filming! This is old-school customer service at its very best. I can't thank James and the team enough and will absolutely be ordering from them again in the future. Highly, highly recommend!

“Really happy with service from start to finish! Quick turnaround from ordering to receiving products.”

Steel City supplied magnets for us recently on behalf of one of our charity sector clients. Both David & Rowan from initial quote, through to overseeing the project itself were brilliant. Very pleased with the finished product, and quicker than initially expected. Thanks again, Marc

Ordered loads of branded merch from them (we're talking in the 1000s) multiple times over the past few years and they never fail to be absolutely spectacular with their customer service, general friendliness and their helpfulness! The merch is top notch quality, and will happily continue using Steel City for many orders to come! Hugely recommend!

We have ordered several branded products from Steel City, and we have been extremely impressed by both the quality of the products themselves and also the service we've received from their fantastic team. Georgia in particular has been brilliant - her friendly demeanour and genuine willingness to help us make the right decisions for our business made the entire process seamless. No question was too trivial, and no request was ever too much trouble for her. Steel City has earned our trust as a reliable and customer-focused company, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for high-quality branded products with exceptional service to match. Thanks guys!

My first time using Steel City BM, what a great service, we delayed things and messed them about a bit but they still came up trumps, got the merchandise we wanted, printed with our Logos and delivered within the very short timeframe we gave them, excellent service. I would highly recommend using them

I am a repeat customer for a good reason and have been for years. Never let me down, courteous, friendly service, quality goods, lovely efficient firm to deal with (exemplary COMMUNICATION as well, which seems to be a commodity fast diminishing between client and supplier these days) and going forward I’ll be back again - at least twice a year with ever increasing volumes. Can’t recommend them highly enough. Great firm.

Really easy to work with and the merch was great quality

Recently sourced products from Steel City and couldn't be happier! From the initial enquiry to the delivery of the products, every step of the process was handled with the utmost professionalism and care. The quality is exceptional, the customer service is outstanding, and the delivery was prompt. I highly recommend them to any business looking for reliable, high-quality suppliers. Thank you for exceeding our expectations!

Ordered a bulk order of 500 branded notepads on the Monday and they had been delivered on the Friday! Impressively fast. Great quality products, and the customer service is the best i've experienced- both Rowan the Sales Administrator and Debbie the Account Manager were excellent, very rapid email response with all the info needed. We will continue to use Steel City for our company's branded merch.

Can't rate the team at Steel City Marketing highly enough. I've ordered a few different promotional items just recently and every single time, from start to finish, the service from Georgia & Rowan in particular, has been first class. Each item we have had (leather key fobs, feather flags and printed bags) are of an excellent quality and have been produced to a very high standard. I've always been pleasantly surprised at the quality, speed and with the exceptional service this company has always fulfilled our orders.
