At Steel City, we approach branded confectionery with the same care we’d use for our own gifting. Our job is to put forward pack formats and branding methods that print cleanly, survive handling, and arrive exactly when you need them.

Format That Fits: We’ve selected compact gift boxes, letterbox-friendly packs, tins, and larger hampers because we know these formats work. This avoids the issue of ordering “pick ‘n’ mix” style options that turn up looking awkward on a desk or don’t fit in the post. We want these to land well with the recipient.
Print Area Control: We use defined, workable print areas (including full-colour print and foil blocking, with areas such as 85 × 80mm, 220 × 120mm, and 459 × 95mm) so your artwork never gets squeezed or pushed off-centre. It’s really important that your logo placement looks consistent and professional across the whole order, even on smaller items.
Finish That Matches: Our range includes bold full-colour coverage and quieter premium finishes like foil blocking. We know that different packs need different “volume” – sometimes you want to shout, and sometimes you want a subtle, high-quality feel that suits a premium gift without the print fighting the unboxing experience.
Lead Time You Can Plan: We are always upfront about production lead times from proof approval (ranging from 4-8 days through 10, 14, 15 and up to 20 days) so you can plan realistically. We want to reduce the risk of any last-minute panic or having to swap into cheaper packaging when your deadline is locked in.
Packaging That Holds Shape: First impressions count. We stick to rigid, presentation-first packaging – 2-part boxes, printed cartons, sleeves, and backing cards – because soft packs can scuff or look tired very quickly in transit. This keeps your packs looking clean whether you’re handing them out at reception, leaving them in meeting rooms, or posting them out.
Packaging You Can Check: It’s really important that we don’t greenwash. We include options with specific packaging statements (responsibly sourced paper/card from sustainably managed forests/certified wood, plus plastic-free paper packaging where stated) because vague “eco” claims fall apart when a client can see and feel the pack. This allows you to choose a paper-based option you can really stand behind.
Shorter Supply Lines: We love putting forward UK-made lines across multiple formats because long shipping routes add variability. Staying local gives us tighter control and makes repeat runs much smoother if you’re topping up hospitality stock or building ongoing onboarding packs.

Sleeve That Stays Smart: We use the Tony’s Chocolonely Personalised Bar 180g with a fully customised printed paper sleeve because it keeps the branding tidy and protected. If you’re gifting externally, this avoids the “wrapper swap” look and keeps the pack feeling considered and high-quality, with traceable Fairtrade supply and no palm oil.
All-Over Print Match: We treat the Four Chocolate Truffle Box as our benchmark because the full-colour all-over print stops that mismatched look between standard cartons and separate labels. If you’re sending client gifts, this ensures the box looks like one cohesive, professional print job, not a label stuck on at the end.
Foil Lid Restraint: We’ve included the Classic Four Chocolate Truffle Box because we’ve seen gift packs spoiled by heavy print. Foil blocking on the lid (85 × 80mm print area) keeps the branding crisp and controlled when you want a really premium top-face without filling it edge-to-edge.
A5 Calendar Robustness: We chose the Chocolate Advent Calendar in an A5 full-colour printed format with shrink wrap because seasonal items can get knocked about in distribution. If you’re shipping to multiple addresses, this keeps edges cleaner and ensures the calendar lands well when it arrives.
Message Space Built In: We found that the Candy Cane Cards solve a common problem with tiny sweet packs – there’s nowhere to put a readable message. The bespoke printed backing card (170 × 75mm) gives you room for a proper call to action or QR code without cramming it onto a small wrapper.
Tidy Portion Control: We included Boxed Handmade Biscuits because loose bowl-fill sweets can go stale or look messy. A full-colour printed, responsibly sourced card box keeps portions contained, so you can leave it out in meeting rooms or reception without it looking scruffy by midday.

Just wanted to share some overwhelmingly positive feedback about James and his incredible team. I recently placed a very small, but crucial, order for an embroidered puffa jacket. My original supplier completely let me down, calling late on a Friday afternoon (3:00 PM) to push the committed delivery date from Tuesday to Thursday, which was too late for our filming schedule. In a panic, I called James's team at 3:05 PM that same Friday, honestly expecting a firm "no." However, I was met with unbelievably helpful and flexible service. The team, specifically Rowan and David, were absolutely first class! They went above and beyond, making it seem like nothing was too much trouble.
