At Steel City, we select and brand towels based on two key things: how they feel after repeat washes, and how your branding holds up when they’re stuffed in kit bags, used outdoors, and laundered hard.
When you’re ordering for an event, a gym, a golf day or a summer promo, the towel size, fibre, and branding method do most of the hard work. Our job is to stop you ending up with something that looks fine on day one but doesn’t last the course.
- Useful towel sizes: Our team curates gym, beach and golf formats so the towel fits the purpose, not just your artwork. We want to stop you ordering something that’s too small to be useful or so bulky that people leave it at home.
- Branding that lasts: We will always recommend print, embroidery or woven branding based on how the towel gets used and washed, so the branding doesn’t fade early or feel stiff. Our proofing process locks in placement and colours before production so you don’t get any avoidable surprises.
- Reliable lead times: Lead time is a really popular question, so we are clear that ours start from your artwork approval. We’ll point you to the options that fit your schedule (12, 20, 25, 28, or 40 days depending on what you choose). That reduces the risk of towels turning up after your event or after a seasonal window has passed.
- Visible print area: We include large-format full-colour print options up to 1400x700mm (plus bleed) on the right towels, because small prints can get lost on fabric at a distance. This lets you place branding where it stays readable when the towel’s in use or hung up.
- High-quality embroidery: Our embroidery options come with stitch limits (typically 7,000-10,000 depending on the towel) because over-stitching makes logos feel heavy and can pull the fabric over time. Keeping the stitch count sensible helps your logo stay sharp through repeat laundering rather than cracking like surface prints can.
- A feel you can choose: We carry heavier cotton terry/velour alongside microfibre and cotton/poly blends with a terry reverse, because “plush and absorbent” and “light and quick-dry” do different jobs. If pack size matters, you can go lighter; if you want that hotel-style feel, you can go cotton-heavy.
- Origin and colour control: We are transparent about origin (including UK-made options on printed formats where available) and we’ll guide you on base colours and colour-matched routes where the method allows. That reduces the risk of base towel colours drifting away from your brand palette.
