At Steel City, we’ve always said that if you wouldn’t use a product yourself, there’s no point putting your logo on it. That is exactly how we approach branded dog items. They need to be the things that get grabbed on the way out the door and keep working even when they’re wet, dropped, or pulled about.

We know how important it is that these products land well with the recipient. Our proofing process and advice on branding methods are there to make sure we back you every step of the way – avoiding wrong placements or weak prints – so you can get on with your job knowing the quality is there.

Lead-clip attachment points: We really like clip-on and belt-loop formats (like carabiners and drawstrings) because this hardware keeps the product attached to a lead, bag, or waistband while you walk; it means your branding stays on the item people actually take out of the house and use day-to-day, rather than it ending up loose in a drawer.
Outdoor-safe print placement: When you’re putting your branding on a product, you want it to be perceived as really good quality; we specify clear print areas (e.g., 18mm Ø, 65 × 52mm, 50 × 25mm) and only offer all-over full-colour where we know the material can take it; that stops the print looking rough at the edges and ensures the logo doesn’t look fuzzy after it’s been dragged around outdoors.
Full-colour for photos: We include full-colour branding options (including all-over print on leads/collars and full colour on bandanas) because high-contrast colour really holds up better; it’s great for when people are taking photos at events or out on a walk, giving you branding that you can still read from a few metres away rather than dark prints disappearing outside.
Pantone when it matters: We’ll take a consultative approach to your brand colours; we offer Pantone matching on selected 1-colour items because we know consistency is key across batches or repeat campaigns; if colour accuracy is critical to you, this stops that “nearly right” shade problem when items sit side-by-side.
Lead times you can plan around: We know deadlines are often tight, so we list products with lead times from just 4 days (from artwork approval) up to 25 days; if you’re up against an event date, we can help you pick the items that can realistically be produced and delivered in time so you aren’t let down.
Proof-before-production sign-off: It’s really important that you get exactly what you need, so our production timing always starts from proof approval; this lets you check logo size, contrast, and placement before anything runs, ensuring you don’t receive boxes of stock with branding in the wrong position.
Eco specs you can explain: Sustainability is a real buzzword at the moment, so we include options with rPET components and compostable poop bags; these materials make sense in day-to-day use and give you a clear spec to repeat internally, making it easier to say exactly what is responsible about the item without greenwashing.

Bandana-sized branding area: We really like the Dog Bandana because the 220 × 200mm full-colour print area gives your logo enough space to stay readable in photos and in a moving crowd; if you’re using this for PR shots or events, that larger panel ensures your brand gets the exposure it needs.
Long print down the lead: We picked the rPET Dog Lead – 1 Colour because the 1080 × 21mm print area runs your branding along the length people actually see while walking; if you need colour consistency, the Pantone option really helps avoid leads arriving in slightly different shades.
Treat-bag fabric that holds shape: Quality is key, so we chose 600D polyester with 210D nylon on the Dog Treat Bag; this fabric weight helps the bag keep its shape through constant opening and refilling, avoiding that floppy bag issue you get with lighter materials.
Carabiner clip on the dispenser: We specified a carabiner clip on the Neoprene Dog Poop Bag because useful kit stays with the lead instead of being left by the door; the included 15 compostable bags mean you can hand it out and it’s useful straight away.
Light you’ll actually switch on: We chose the LED Dog Collar Light – Full Colour because solid/flashing modes make it genuinely useful on evening walks, not just a novelty freebie; it keeps your branding on something that gets used when visibility matters.
Bowl that doesn’t skate: We picked the Koda Dog Bowl with rubber feet because they grip and reduce sliding on hard floors; if you have an urgent deadline, the 450ml size and 4-day lead time make it a really strong option to get something turned around quickly.

Just wanted to share some overwhelmingly positive feedback about James and his incredible team. I recently placed a very small, but crucial, order for an embroidered puffa jacket. My original supplier completely let me down, calling late on a Friday afternoon (3:00 PM) to push the committed delivery date from Tuesday to Thursday, which was too late for our filming schedule. In a panic, I called James's team at 3:05 PM that same Friday, honestly expecting a firm "no." However, I was met with unbelievably helpful and flexible service. The team, specifically Rowan and David, were absolutely first class! They went above and beyond, making it seem like nothing was too much trouble. Thanks to their efforts, the jacket will now be delivered on Wednesday—a whole day before we need it for filming! This is old-school customer service at its very best.
