At Steel City, we choose our calendar formats based on two main things: where they’ll actually sit on a desk or wall, and ensuring they last the full year without looking tired. Our choices are about making sure the product lands well with your client and doesn’t end up being discarded.

Desk Space Fit: We know that desk real estate is precious. That’s why we prioritise compact desk easels (including 210 x 99mm and 140 x 140mm) and clear wall sizes (A3/A2/A1). It ensures the calendar sits right where you’re working, not hidden behind a monitor. This keeps the grid readable and your branding visible all year round without forcing an awkward format into your client’s space.
Proof Before Print: We want to back you every step of the way, so our proofing process is tight. We hold production until you approve the artwork, and we state lead times up front (e.g., 10-15 days from approval). This removes the risk of any errors, ensuring you don’t have to live with a date mistake or misaligned logo for the next 12 months.
UK Turnaround Options: Because we include UK-made options with defined turnaround windows (commonly 10-15 days from artwork approval), you can plan around fixed event dates and mail-drops with confidence. If your deadline is tight, this gives you a workable solution without having to compromise on the product choice.
Sustainability You Can Trace: Sustainability is really important to us. We specify responsibly sourced paper options and can provide the certification on request. It means if procurement checks come back later, you’ve got full traceability and something you can reference, rather than a vague “eco” claim.
Arriving in Perfect Condition: By choosing formats supplied with board mailing envelopes (or inserted into white board mailing envelopes), the calendar resists crushed corners in transit. We want your product to land well, so you spend less time replacing damaged stock and your recipients pin up something that looks really sharp.
Print Area That Reads: We always recommend options with defined full-colour print areas (e.g., 206 x 23mm, 283 x 50mm, 297 x 210mm) so your logo and key message don’t get squeezed. This keeps your branding consistent and legible, even when the calendar is viewed from across a desk or room.

Board-Envelope Post Protection: We recommend the Landscape Easel Calendar because the 210 x 99mm format ships with board mailing envelopes. This helps it arrive flat rather than dog-eared, meaning you can run direct mail campaigns without worrying about the quality of the item when it lands.

Recycled Board, Faster Route: Our team uses the Eco Easel Desk Calandar and Motto Pad – Full Colour as a benchmark because the recycled board holds up to daily desk use while keeping the sustainability story clear. If you’re up against a deadline, the 5-day express option gives you a quicker path than longer supply routes.
One-Colour Cost Control: We recommend the Eco Easel Desk Calandar and Motto Pad – 1 Colour because the 1-colour print helps control unit costs when you’re ordering at volume. This setup still gives you a calendar that can take everyday handling without looking like a throwaway item after a few weeks.
Big Grid You Can Read: We chose the A1 Wall Planner because the A1 size and 170gsm silk stock keep boxes readable and the sheet stiff enough to pin up without it flapping. It’s useful for tracking deadlines, and the dedicated advert area gives your branding a fixed space without stealing room from the planner grid.
Wiro Hanging Strength: We recommend the A3 Portrait Wall Calendar because the wiro binding and hanger loop stop the usual tearing you get from cheaper stapled hangers. The protective cover and grey board backing help it stay flat on the wall, so you don’t end up with curled corners by mid-year.
