At Steel City, we approach stress items the same way we do any branded merchandise: we look for quality and usefulness. We want to choose a shape people will actually keep and use in their day-to-day, while ensuring the print area is spot on so your branding looks fantastic and stands out.

70mm desk size: We stick to the core 70mm Ø round and a tight set of recognisable shapes – like the heart, brain, house, hard hat, or truck. This gives you a stress item that sits perfectly on a desk and still makes sense long after the event. It allows you to match a wellbeing, safety, or industry message effectively, ensuring the product feels relevant rather than just a random shape that might get discarded.
Curve-safe print areas: We work with specific, proven print panels (commonly 30mm Ø, 50×20mm, or up to 67×30mm) to ensure your logo remains clear and readable on a curved, squeezable surface. This avoids that common issue where artwork looks great on a screen but might distort on the final product. We want to make sure your brand looks its best in the hand.
One-spot or full-colour: We offer 1-colour and full-colour options because we know stress items have specific branding areas. If your logo works well as a simple icon, we can help you keep costs down. However, if you have gradients or multiple tones, our full-colour option ensures we don’t have to compromise your brand guidelines, allowing your logo to really stand out.
Approval-to-door timings: We know lead times are crucial. Ours run from proof approval – typically 5 working days for 1-colour and 10 working days for full-colour (with express options on selected lines). This allows you to plan your stock for wellbeing weeks, exhibitions, and safety days with confidence, knowing we’ll get the items to you when you need them.
Theme-first shapes: We carry shapes like hearts, houses, hard hats, and trucks because they are instantly recognisable and help tell your story at a glance. The shape signals the message, and the defined print area gives you enough space for your logo and a short call to action, ensuring everything remains legible and lands well with the recipient.
Castor-oil bio option: Our range includes a bio-based option partly made from castor oil, maintaining that familiar 70mm Ø size and defined print area. Sustainability is really important to us, and this option gives you a genuine eco-story to tell without relying on vague wording – helping you avoid greenwashing while ticking the right boxes for your campaign.
Baseline picks, then bespoke: We always suggest starting with the products on this page because we know they work reliably in terms of shape, print area, and lead time. It helps narrow down the choice quickly. If your budget and timeline allow, we can then explore more bespoke options, but we’ll always guide you to make sure you’re getting exactly what you need.

Fast 1-colour round: We’d recommend the Round Stress Ball – 1 Colour because its PU body and 30mm Ø print area keep branding really crisp on a curved surface. If you’re working to a tight deadline, the 5-day lead time from proof approval helps us get stock in your hands ready for the event.
Safety-day hard hat: We chose the Stress Hard Hat – 1 Colour so you can tie the giveaway directly to PPE and site safety themes instantly. The defined print position ensures your logo sits perfectly, avoiding the risk of it looking cramped or messy on a unique shape.
Bio-based squeeze feel: We recommend the Eco Stress Ball – 1 Colour because the bio-based PU (partly made from castor oil) keeps that satisfying squeeze-and-return feel people expect. It’s important that the product feels good quality in the hand and doesn’t deform quickly, so it stays on the desk and continues to do a good job for your brand.
Gradient-safe branding: We picked the Round Stress Ball – Full Colour so multi-tone logos don’t have to be simplified, losing their impact. Full-colour printing in one position, with a clear 30mm Ø print area, keeps the placement tidy and ensures your brand colours match your guidelines perfectly.
Instant cause cue: We recommend the Stress Heart – 1 Colour because the heart shape signals the cause or care message straight away. If you need something quickly, the 5-day lead time means we can get a cause-themed item printed and delivered without holding up your campaign schedule.
Bigger message panel: We chose the House Stress Ball – Full Colour because the 67×30mm print area gives your logo and a short call-to-action enough space to be easily read.
