Key Information

At Steel City, we know that lanyards are often the first thing people see at an event, so it’s really important they do their job well. We select our range to avoid those common frustrations on busy days: straps that twist, clips that snap, or prints that don’t look quite right from a distance.

Our job is to guide you on the width, print method, and safety clips right from the start. We’ll handle the proofing and production checks so you can focus on handing them out and getting on with your event, onboarding, or site access.

Your logo stays facing forward: We suggest 10mm, 15mm, or 20mm widths because the size really controls how much a strap twists and how much of your brand people actually see. We’ll help you match the strap width to your badge size so you avoid skinny straps rolling over or wide straps feeling clumsy to wear all day.
Artwork that prints clearly: Our range includes full-colour dye-sublimation for gradients and full-bleed designs, plus simpler 1-colour options when your logo doesn’t need the extra process. We’ll make sure you aren’t paying for full colour when you don’t need it, while ensuring fine details don’t turn into a blur.
Safety is key: We put forward breakaway clips on multiple lines because we know neck straps can catch on chair arms or door handles when you’re moving quickly. If you’re working to a venue, workplace, or school rule, this saves you from having to go fully bespoke just to get a safety break in the strap.
Clips that last: We often recommend metal trigger clips because they hold their spring and don’t pop open when your badge gets knocked. If your holder is heavier or you’re using double fixings, swivel and double-clip setups can reduce flipping and keep the badge sitting flatter.
Meeting your deadlines: We know lead times are a popular question, especially with event dates that don’t move. We keep fast-turn UK-made options available alongside standard lead times. If you’re late to order, we can usually make a 5-day route work from artwork approval to keep staff packs ready before the doors open.
Sustainability you can trust: It’s really important that we don’t greenwash. We call out certified rPET and other stated materials like paper and certified sustainable bamboo fibre because “eco” on its own isn’t enough. We’ll make sure you have the traceability you need to sign off on sustainability properly.
Standard specs, or custom if needed: We use our experience to set working baselines for width, print coverage, clip type, and safety breaks so you don’t have to start from scratch. But if your rollout needs something different, we can source other combinations so you never have to compromise on the final result.

Readable from a distance: We would recommend the 20mm Dye Sublimation Lanyard because that 20mm width gives your logo more usable space, and dye-sublimation keeps the colour crisp across the strap. If you’re working a busy venue, this keeps your branding readable without people having to lean in.
Anti-twist double clip: We’ve picked the 20mm rPET Double Trigger Clip Lanyard as a suggestion when you need the badge to sit stable on a heavier holder. Two metal trigger clips stop the flip-and-spin you often get with a single attachment point when you’re walking the floor all day.
Consistent for large teams: We keep the 20mm Flat Polyester Lanyard in the mix because flat polyester holds its shape well, and a 1-colour print stays consistent across large quantities. If you’re issuing hundreds for daily wear, this avoids straps curling at the edges and looking tired quickly.
When you need it fast: We offer the Express 20mm rPET Sublimated Lanyard for those urgent deadlines that won’t shift, using a 5-day lead time from artwork approval. It allows for full branding visibility even when the order goes in late.
Easy access scanning: We chose the 15mm Smooth Polyester Pull Reel Lanyard because the built-in 32mm pull reel lets you present a card to a reader without taking the lanyard off. If your team scans in and out all day, this is a really useful feature that reduces yanking on straps.
Recycled, but bold: We recommend the 20mm Recycled Dye Sublimation Lanyard because certified rPET plus dye-sublimation keeps the colour strong rather than dull. If sustainability is a priority but your branding still needs to stand out, this option avoids that “washed-out” look.
