At Steel City, we select our range based on what’s going to last. We know that if a coaster curls at the edges or slides around on a polished table, it isn’t doing your brand any favours.

When you’re ordering for desks, bars, venues or events, the material and the backing matter just as much as the artwork. It’s about ensuring the product lands well with the recipient and still looks great after a week of drinks and wiping.

Built for day-to-day use: We always put forward rigid options like glass (4mm), ceramic (5mm) and bamboo (5mm), plus wipe-clean vinyl, because we know thin card coasters go soft very quickly. This allows you to pick a coaster that keeps its shape when it’s seeing coffee, condensation and quick wipe-downs in the office or at home.
Matching your brand: We take a consultative approach to your artwork. Our range includes full-colour printing (including reverse digital print where needed) and simple 1-colour printing for consistency. That keeps your gradients and photos from looking dull, and ensures single-colour logos stay crisp, helping your brand stand out exactly as it should.
Deadlines and lead times: We know lead times are a popular question. We keep lines with clear production windows like 5, 7, or 10 working days from proof approval, and we can usually make something work on express services if your event is coming up fast. That reduces the risk of having to switch to a lower quality material just to hit a date.
UK Production: We include plenty of UK-made options because we know shipping delays from the Far East can be an issue. If you’re restocking a venue or have a specific event date, this helps keep delivery predictable and supports local manufacturing.
Protecting the surface: We specify cork backing or silicon bumpons where needed, because we know hard surfaces can slide and mark polished tables. This keeps coasters in place on desks and bar tops, ensuring they are perceived as good quality items that don’t scuff after a busy service.
No Greenwashing: We pick options with specific credentials – like 100% recycled plastic, 100% recycled greyboard, ~90% recycled-content builds, certified bamboo, or post-consumer waste seed paper – because vague “eco” claims aren’t helpful. We want to give you the full traceability you need so you can report on your sustainability goals with confidence.
Our recommendations: We use the products shown above as our starting point because they print cleanly, protect surfaces, and hit reliable lead times. However, if you have a specific brief, a venue standard, or a bespoke packaging requirement, our team can work with you to source exactly what you need.

Great for events: We recommend the Vinyl Coaster – Full Colour when you are up against a tight deadline, because the 5 Day Express Delivery option gets things moving quickly once you’ve signed off the proof. The vinyl face handles constant wiping, so your QR codes and brand colours stay readable rather than soaking up spills.
A premium feel: Our choice for meeting rooms and premium tables is the Dye Sublimated Glass Coaster. We use 4mm glass with reverse full-colour print so the artwork sits behind the glass, not on the surface. Silicon bumpons add grip, so it feels substantial on the desk and the print doesn’t get scuffed by daily use.
Consistent reordering: We use the Vinyl Coaster – 1 Colour when you’re reordering often, because the UK-made vinyl build with 100% recycled greyboard and ~90% total recycled content stays consistent from batch to batch. That helps your brand look professional across repeat orders.
Call to action: We picked the Recycled Plastic Double Coaster because the 169 x 95mm full-colour branding area – plus the side panel for a treat – gives the recipient a reason to keep it on their desk.
