Key Information

At Steel City, we know that when you’re planning an event, the deadline is everything. You need awards that are going to look fantastic on stage, stand up to scrutiny, and – crucially – arrive exactly when you need them.

To take the stress out of the process, we stick to UK-made, responsibly sourced options and keep our proofing process tight. We want to make sure there are no last-minute surprises, just a high-quality product that lands well with your recipients.

Curating the right materials: We’ve made the decision to standardise around solid oak and Moso bamboo because we know the quality is consistent.
A clear proofing process: Our “7 days from artwork approval” approach means we only start production once you are completely happy with the layout.
Sustainability with substance: It’s really important that we don’t greenwash, so we only put forward woods where suppliers can demonstrate a certified sustainable supply chain.
Branding that stands out: We take a consultative approach to branding, recommending engraving or full-colour print (including face-plates) to control the contrast.
Closer to home, fewer surprises: Our preference for UK-made production keeps the supply chain short and gives us much tighter control.
Quality you can feel: We chose solid oak and thick 40mm Moso bamboo because that extra mass stops the award feeling flimsy.
A strong starting point: We use the core items here as a benchmark for material, print clarity, and lead time to help you place a straightforward order quickly.

Solid Oak Trophy Award – Full Colour because the defined full-colour print area (up to 107 × 107mm) ensures your logo remains readable even from a few metres away.
Solid Oak Pillar With Tapered Top comes down to legibility, as with two printed metal plates and 7 finish options you get a contrast that wood grain alone can’t offer.
Solid Oak Trophy Award – Engraved uses solid oak because the material holds detail beautifully and actually looks better as it picks up a natural patina over time.
Moso Bamboo Award – Engraved is recommended because the 145 × 75mm engraving area gives you plenty of space for longer recipient names and titles.
Solid Oak Star With Acrylic Face Plate is all about controlling contrast, as the full-colour print sits on a clear recycled acrylic face plate rather than directly on the textured wood.
Bespoke Shaped Bamboo Award is used when you need the shape itself to do the talking, with bespoke shaping within 200 × 140mm to avoid the generic “standard plaque” look.
