Steel City Marketing embarked on their first ever networking event on Friday 18th September 2015, held at the innovative AMP (Advanced Manufacturing Park) in Catcliffe, Rotherham.
Sales Manager Claire Hutchinson came up with the idea as a way to “inspire, inform and communicate“ and to raise money for a fantastic charitable cause. There was a brilliant turn out of over 40 local and regional business people, sharing their experiences and networking. A massive £329.00 was raised for Steel City’s chosen charity.
The morning was a collection of moving and motivating talks by guest speakers as well as an overview of Steel City by MD James Biggin. There was also an exciting selection of pop-up product displays from various factories used by Steel City Marketing. Each one showcased the type of branded products on offer through SCM, and what could be done to promote a brand and company.
The event was timed to run alongside Promotional Products Week – a week to celebrate the branded merchandise industry and its progressive impact on companies marketing activities. Each guest was invited to take away with them an ‘Americano’ thermal cup filled with various branded goodies such as headphones, phone wallets and lip balm.
Feedback after the event was really positive; guests came away with a “refreshing approach to marketing” with “lots of useful ideas of how to stand out and be different in a saturated market”.
